I thought we could post our team's squads here, as somewhere to get all the players in one place.

It's actually a little better than I thought. Other than openside, we have cover everywhere, while we do have quality in both the first XV and in depth.

Worries remain over centre, especially if Saili is unfit for most of the season again, while there are a number of journeymen in that squad we'd be better off without.

When England are playing, we should be reasonably covered this time around, with the signing of Auterac and the returns from injury of Buchanan, Bothma, Wallace, Catrakilis, Saili and Mikalcius.

43 players in the first team squad does seem a little bloated, mind. But of those, only 12 are non-EQP, for a %age of 72%. Could be higher if it wasn't for Lang's poach.

Swiel is EQP, isn't he? Thought he was born here. Not that he'll ever trouble an EPS mind, but he'll get you an extra couple of percent.

Oh joy.

Yeah, Swiel is one of those players I was talking about when I said 43 was a bit large...Basically, I'd drop him, Alofa and one of Bothma or Luamanu, depending on the former's return from injury.

And Mikey, indeed. Though hopefully those 2 new coaches (and maybe a 3rd on the way) make the difference.

Reassuringly a lot in bold there, I presume George Thornton is EQP despite playing Scotland u20s. 43 in the senior squad 13 in Senior academy I believe.

Briz do seem to have a spattering of star quality backed up by real journeymen... It's the age old question of whether a few stars can lift up the performance of the team as a whole. As outside of Luatua, Madigan and the Piatau's (plus an OAP Smith), there's not a lot of quality...

Brizzle seem to be in another league in terms of player numbers over the rest of the prem, not seen a lot of business conducted by Northampton or Exeter really so I am assuming their squad sizes are similar to Glos/Tigers/Bath etc.

Most seem to hover around 20-24 forwards and 15-20 backs. Briz have 29 forwards...that's their problem I'd say. They had some underwhelming players signed up to contracts longer than they should have been and now they're in the AP, they need quality on top of those players...

Meant light in quality not numbers, Stom has it right. We had too many players that aren't up to standard (Faletau for one) that had another year to go so we couldn't get rid.

Incredible to look at those locks - 6 senior second rows and I'm not sure I'd say one of them is Premiership starter quality.

Thought I posted this earlier but it doesn’t seem to have gone through. I can only assume that Puja has put some sort of spam filter on....

Why did Perkins leave Sarries for Brizzle - I doubt they got rid. If he were getting plenty of 1stXV experience I could understand it but he’s still down as academy. Weird.

Perkins had Lemi and, for a lot of the season, Varndell in front of him last season. He should get a good shot this season. Ehizode should get some time as well as should Batley as he's now all clear of cancer.

I hope so, but he’s still marked as academy which at 22 seems strange. He needed gametime last season. He was injured during his DR season at Bedford in 16/17, luckily whilst with Sarries (I think) otherwise with him and Earle we’d never see a Sarries winger again, and came back playing poorly both for Bedford and Eng u20 - he looked liked he lost a lot of confidence. He’s then spent a season languishing in Bristol’s second team or Hartpury, who, I believe, he didn’t play for very often - may be wrong on this. I would’ve thought he’d have been better off playing Sarries A/Anglo-Welsh/the odd 1st XV. Just seems a strange decision on the face of it.

I gave Stephen Jones a call and asked him how he gets round the one at the Sunday Times. If his cheat gets his rubbish through their’s, anything on here will sail through any filter GCHQ could ever conceive.
